Nutritionally Rich Ragi Kali

Hina was a big fan of her grandmother's famed Ragi Kali. Her grandmother created a mushy meal in versions of savory and sweet flavors. Ragi is a mineral-dense crop. It has been discovered that it contains 5-30 times the calcium present in other grains. Phosphorus, potassium, and iron are also abundant. The crop is popular in India because of its nutritional content and lack of fattening properties.

For the summer, Hina preferred the savory version of the Ragi Kali. Her grandmother would mix buttermilk into the mush and add green chilies, raw mangoes, coriander, and salt.  Sweet Kali was great for a warm dessert. Her grandmother made a delightful warm mushy sweet by combining milk, Ragi mush, and brown sugar.

Ragi, a superfood, has been reported in several studies to aid in the treatment of diseases such as sleeplessness, anxiety, and depression. Ragi's amino acids also function as a natural relaxant. Ragi may also be useful to those who suffer from migraines regularly.

Farmers, in fact, take Ragi Kali because it offers steady energy over a long day of labor. Calcium is, without a doubt, essential for preserving bone density and health. As a result, finger millet would be a better option than over-the-counter vitamins, particularly for those at risk of osteoporosis or low hemoglobin levels.
